We're excited to announce that Camp Quest West 2008 will be held at
Camp Ross Relles near Nevada
City, California.
Our beautiful new camp site sits on 228 acres
in the foothills of the Sierras, and is bounded on three sides by Malakoff
Diggins State Historical Park. Its 12 cabins sleep 10 each, giving us room
to grow. The '40s-style wood-paneled Main Lodge, which seats 80, features
a built-in fireplace, adjoining kitchen facilities, and spacious outdoor
decks. Cabins are cleaned daily and first-rate meals are prepared for us.
The 30-year old camp has a new swimming
facility, as well as basketball, baseball, tennis, and outdoor meeting
venues. The site also boasts laundry facilities, two sets of group shower
and lavatory facilities, a store and camper office, and a deck and
barbeque area. Camp Ross Relles is ADA-compliant, with manageable
walkways, trails, rest rooms, bathhouses and cabins.
Beginning in 2008, we will be offering a "Day Camp" option for
7-year olds (or others who'd prefer not to sleep away) if parents are
camping on site, in addition to the typical overnight camp for kids
aged 8-15. Sixteen and & seventeen year old campers may opt to
attend as staff-in-training.
